Do you know someone who is an “unsung hero” who is committed to carrying out the mission of the Catholic Church in word and action? Who has demonstrated service and active leadership in the Church and the community? Who inspires others through sharing their time and talents with generosity and joy?
The Diocese of Marquette is seeking nominations for the annual Legacy of Faith Catholic Service Award. The award was developed in the spirit and intent of the Legacy of Faith Endowment Fund to preserve and foster the Catholic faith in the Upper Peninsula. The award recognizes lifetime dedication and service to the Catholic Church.
The award may be given to a man or a woman; a priest, deacon, woman religious or a lay person. All ages will be considered. Nominations must demonstrate significant service to the Catholic Church.
Visit www.upcatholicfoundation.org/catholic-service-awards/ to learn more and access the online nomination form. Letters of support from people who have benefitted from the nominee’s example are encouraged and may be uploaded to the online form.
Award recipients receive a commemorative medallion, are recognized by their parish family at the parish, are highlighted in diocesan publications and social media, and are invited to attend and be recognized at the annual Bishop’s Ambassadors event. The recipient’s parish receives a $250 grant for faith formation in honor of the recipient.
